2 - The HDT represents the material property for the welding helmet. This temperature should not be exceeded to ensure proper performance of the Welding Helmet. All other Appropriate PPE should be used to minimize exposure when
working at elevated temperatures. Actual Welding Conditions (Material properties, Ambient Temperature, & Radiant Temperature) will affect helmet performance. Use HDT ratings only as a guideline for helmet selection.
