PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Systematically carry out a SELF-TEST immediately before
and after each use of your detector.
This detector can be used:
- In category III installations, with voltages which are always
below 600 V in relation to the earth. Category III meets
the stiff demands regarding reliability and availability
associated with continuous use on fixed industrial
installations (cf. IEC 664-1 ed. 1992).
- In category II installations with voltages which are always
below 1,000 V. Category II corresponds to energy-
consuming portable instruments whose power is supplied
locally by the fixed installation.
Never open the detector's casing before you have
disconnected it from all electricity sources.
Never touch the metal test probes during a test, and the
user's hands shall not cover the display areas while the
detector is being used.
Never carry out a continuity test on a live circuit. However,
in the event of a false manoeuvre, the detector will afford
protection up to 1,000 V.
