5. PHASE / NEUTRAL IDENTIFICATION

Always carry out a self-test before and after using your
detector. Never use it if the result of the self-test is
negative.
Bring one finger into contact with the earth terminal, or
connect the yellow lead with the alligator clip (optional extra)
into the earth terminal and connect the yellow alligator clip
to the earth conductor lead of the circuit.
Place the red test probe on the conductor to be tested.
In the presence of the phase (if U > 127 V~) the red "PH"
LED lights up and the buzzer rings intermittently.
NB 1: The voltage detection function remains active during
this test.
NB 2: During phase recognition, with one finger in contact
with the tester's earth terminal, the identification can be faulty
if the user is equipped with insulating devices to protect against
direct contacts (gloves) or in unfavourable positions such as
on ladders with wooden rungs or insulating mats.
Characteristics and range of use
Phase detection: from 100 V up
Frequency: 50 / 60 Hz
Impedance: Z = 10 MΩ
Operating current:
69 µA to 690 V and 0.1 mA to 1,000 V

6. CONTINUITY TEST

Always carry out a self-test before and after using your
detector. Never use it if the result of the self-test is
negative.
Before carrying out a continuity test, make sure that no
voltage is being applied to the circuit to be tested.
Plug the black lead with the test probe into the "COM"
terminal.
Place the two test probes on the circuit to be tested.
Press the self-test push button.
After the self-test sequence:
- if there is continuity (i.e. R < 30 kΩ), the green 24 V
"continuity" LED will light up along with the 2 green LEDs
marked 6 V and 12 V and the buzzer will ring.
Accidental voltage presence on the circuit to be tested.
You are warned of the presence of a dangerous voltage by
the red LEDs lighting up. Stop the test and cut off the voltage
to the circuit.
