SPRAYING TROUBLESHOOTING - CLEAN THE SPRAY GUN FILTER
If the spray pattern becomes distorted or stops
i
spraying completely while the gun is triggered, the
gun filter could be clogged. Follow the steps below.
YOU WILL NEED
•
Two wrenches
•
Warm, soapy water for latex material
•
Mineral spirits for oil based materials
•
Replacement spray gun filter (if necessary)
Never clean the filter by poking it with a sharp
object.
Attention
1.
Perform the Pressure Relief Procedure, page 10.
2.
Place a wrench on the swivel (a) and the hex nut (b) on the male
end of the spray hose. Turn the hex nut (b) counterclockwise
in order to remove the spray hose.
3.
Loosen the bottom half (c) of the filter housing from the upper
half (d). Remove the filter (e) and clean with the appropriate
cleaning solution (warm, soapy water for latex material;
mineral spirits for oil-based materials).
•
Inspect the filter for damage. Replace if any holes or tears are
found.
Make sure the upper half (d) of the filter housing
i
does not become loosened from the spray gun.
•
Replace the cleaned filter (e), tapered end first, into the filter
housing.
It is important to place the tapered end first to
i
ensure proper sprayer operation.
•
Reassemble the spray gun, reattach the spray hose and
resume spraying.
