Connections for static ignitions - primary

To connect the oscilloscope to the vehicles with DIS ignition, carry out the following
operations:
•
Connect the ground cable (5) to ground the system.
•
Connect the oscilloscope cable (1) to the cable of primary 1 or 2.
2.6 - Connections for ignitions with distributor - secondary
(present only on SL31205/PLUS)
To connect the oscilloscope to vehicles with ignition with distributor carry out the
following operations:
•
Connect the ground cable (5) to ground the system.
•
Connect the capacitive clamp (20) to the high voltage central cable of the
distributor.
2.7 - Connections for static ignitions - secondary
(present only on SL31205/PLUS)
To connect the oscilloscope to the vehicles with DIS ignition, carry out the following
operations:
•
Connect the ground cable (5) to ground the system.
•
Connect the capacitive clamp (20) to the cables of the single spark plugs, one by
one.
2.8 - Secondary diagnostics connections in static ignitions
without high voltage cables – spark plug coils
(present only on SL31205/PLUS)
•
Connect the ground cable (5) to ground the system.
•
Place the oscilloscope cable point (1) close to the single static coils (Fig. 1) in the
point where the signal is stronger (see chapter 9.2).
