15. Adapt feed (pressure) to the material thickness
when sawing. If the feed is too rapid, it results in the
motor being overloaded, the blade becoming worn
too quickly and in a ragged cut.
16. The workpiece should be well secured or fixed.
17. The blade must have already reached max. idling
speed before beginning the cut.
18. It essential to ensure that the clamp levers for cut
depth and inclined cut are properly secured.
19. The workpiece should be checked for foreign
bodies. Do not cut through nails!
20. Keep the cable out of the cutting range of the saw!
Always keep the cable away from the machine to
the back.
21. Do not lift the saw off the workpiece until the blade
has come to a standstill.
22. Never put your fingers into the sawdust ejector
(Risk of injury)!
23. The device must be always switched on and off with
the trigger switch and never by pulling out or inser-
ting the plug at the socket or by pulling out/inser-
ting the mains cable on the machine!
24. Wear safety goggles!
25. The
blade
diameter
Ø 190 mm. However blades with a diameter of grea-
ter than Ø 177 mm can be used. Of course the cut
depth for rectangular cuts would in this case only
be 59.5 mm. The gap rudder must be adjusted ap-
propriately.
26. Observe proper usage of the circular saw: Cutting
wood and wood-like substances with circular bla-
des only.
27. Do not cut asbestos-containing materials!
28. Sockets outside must be protected with a differen-
tial-current switch.
29. The casing may not be drilled through to identify
the machine. The insulation could be bridged. Use
adhesive stickers instead.
Before using the machine for the first time
Before starting the saw, check that the mains voltage is the
same as that on the type plate of the device.
Safety switch with lock off safety position
Before activating the on/off switch (1) in the hand grip,
the switch must be unlocked by pressing the switch re-
lease (2). Only then can the machine be switched on by
pressing the on/off switch. Fixing the on/off switch for
prolonged operation is not possible for safety reasons.
When the on/off switch is released the power supply is
interrupted and the machine comes to a halt. The switch-
on block automatically blocks the switch thus preventing
unintentional activation of the machine.
Motor
The strong universal motor has the power reserves you
need. It is cooled by an extra large fan unit.
Prolonged heavy duty may overheat the motor! Allow
the motor to cool down in no-load speed!
Work only with good sharp blades! The prevents the
motor from overheating.
Cleaning procedure and maintenance
Long motor life will be your reward when you make the mi-
nor effort of blowing the sawdust out of the ventilation
openings in the housing after each job, since optimum
ventilation is a critical factor in motor life.
From time to time, clean the resin deposits out of the saw-
dust ejector (please do not use caustic cleaning agents).
This will ensure proper sawdust ejection.
The saw motor is permanently lubricated and so needs no
special maintenance. However, if you use the saw for
heavy-duty jobs over a long period of time we recommend
that you occasionally send it to our service department for

thorough cleaning and inspection. This will save you
money for repairs and increase the service life of your tool.
Base
The base (14) has been set in the factory so that it makes
an angle of exactly 90° with the blade in basic position
(zero mark on scale). 4 point mounting for no twist accu-
rate operation.
Swing guard
The swing guard (11), which covers the blade, moving
back automatically when the blade is brought into the
work, at the same rate at which the saw is brought in.
When you reach the end of the cut, the swing guard moves
back by spring action to cover the blade again.
Setting cut depth
The cutting depth can be set up to 66 mm. The base (14)
can be pressed downwards, thus being moved in direction
cutting depth "0" when the clamp lever (7) on the casing is
released. The cutting depth can be read off from the indica-
tor (24) or reset according to the scale. The cutting depth
should always match the workpiece thickness, i.e. the
must
not
exceed
blade should only project by approx. height of a sawtooth.
This is important for preventing accidents!
Sawing to layout lines
On the front edge of the circular saw base, there is a mar-
ker (indentation) for rectangular cuts (zero setting), which
corresponds to the blade width. In addition, there are mar-
king tongues for 0° and 45° bevel cuts, thus enabling sim-
ple and precise work. The marking tongues in the base
(see drawing) also correspond to the cut width of the
blade. When following the layout line, make sure that you
cut respectively according to the left or right edge of the
indentation or marking tongue, depending on whether you
are sawing to the left or right of the layout line.
Rip fence
The graduations on the fence arm make setting extremely
easy. Release star grip bolt (4), slide parallel stop (5) by the
required amount. Tighten up star grip bolt (4).
Setting the angle of cut
The base (14) can be tilted up to 45° for bevel cuts. First
loosen the two clamp levers (6) on the angle scales incline
the base according to the scale and then retighten the
clamp levers.
The folded over part on the angle scale points to the
0°-position.
Sawdust ejector with integrated suction neck
Sawdust ejector (15) is so formed that sawdust is blown out
backwards and to the side. This keeps it away from the
operator as far as possible. The motor cooling air is blown
through the casing as well and thus helps sawdust ejection.
The ejection neck can also be used for an external suction
unit. Any standard vacuum cleaner with a flexible 36 mm
dia. hose can be connected to the neck and thus consider-
ably reduce messiness.
Thus contamination of the workplace and a possible
risk to health are considerably reduced.
When using as a circular saw bench this electric equip-
ment may only be operated with a dust extractor. The
dust extractor must comply with the "Safety regulati-
ons for extraction and removal of wood dust and sha-
vings" (ZH 1/139).
For the dust extractor a minimum air speed of 20 m/s
at the suction neck must be ensured.
For use as circular saw bench, only those saw benches
may be used which have been expressly approved by
the manufacturer for use with KRESS circular saws.
