With the three-phase current pumps, an isolation device has to be fitted into the
ready-wired electrical installation. This isolation device must be fitted with at least
a 3 mm contact opening at each pole. Furthermore, a motor protection switch must
be fitted into the hard wiring.
5.1 Direction of rotation of motor
The direction of rotation must correspond to the direction arrow on the pump housing!
Use a rotating field meter when making settings! Alternatively a pump filled with
water can be briefly switched ON/OFF in order to establish the rotation direction!
If the rotation direction is wrong, this should be corrected by an approved electrician!
Caution: the pump must never run dry, even for a short while!
5.2 Motor protection
The pump should generally only be operated with one motor protection switch!
Procedure for setting the motor protection switch:
1.
2.
3.
4.
The max. setting of the over-current trip device must not exceed the
nominal motor voltage!
5.3 Frequency regulation
Regulation of the pump's frequency is only permitted in consultation with the
manufacturer!
An adequate and constant motor cooling system has to be ensured!
Motors connected to a voltage of up to 415 V must be protected against surge
voltages over 650 V between the terminal clamps!
6.0 Maintenance and repair
All maintenance work must be carried out when the pump is disconnected! The
pump should be protected against accidental switching on.
Regularly check the pump for dirt and deposits, especially in the strainer!
Clean strainer with a brush and water.
Use safety gloves to protect against sharp edges.
In event of fault or breakdown, do not attempt to carry out repairs yourself!
Remove pump and send it to the factory with a description of the fault!
If the connecting lead of the pump is damaged, it has to be replaced by the
manufacturer or his customer services department or a similarly qualified person
in order to avoid danger.
6.1. Winter storage
Pumps should only be stored and operated in frost-free places!
Remove the pump before the onset of frost! Store the pump in a frost-free place in
a container with water!
Caution! The end of the connecting lead must never come into contact
with water!

Set over-current trip device to nominal motor voltage
Let pump run at normal capacity for approx. 30 minutes
Gradually reduce the setting of the over-current trip device until the trip point
is reached
Then set over-current trip device to 5% above the trip point
