With the component flat on a table or
other surface, trim the component
length in a straight line all the way
across the top edge of the component
along the black trim line. (13)
Adjusting the band length:
If the length of any juxtafit band is too
long, it can be trimmed as much as
necessary, as long as you do not trim
past the BPS lines. It is recommended to
trim in small increments so as to avoid
over-trimming. A band is too long and
should be trimmed if bands are touching
in the back of the leg or if it is causing
excessive creasing in the back of the leg.
(14) To adjust the length of a band, first
identify how much the band needs to be
trimmed. Mark the desired trim point on
the component using a pen or pencil.
Next, with the component flat on a table
or other surface, trim the band length at
the desired point in a straight line. (15)
Then, using the included extra hook
tabs, apply one of the extra hook tabs to
the new band end. (16)
Note:
Do not trim the component while it is on
the wearer's leg.
Important information for
practitioners and patients:
Please note it is recommended that the
limb is always treated in its entirety
with medical compression.
This means that compression products
for the leg begin at the foot or the ankle
and extend up to below the hollow of
the knee or beyond to include the thigh.
