OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

a) Check to make sure that oil reaches the sight level glass (2 fig.10) on each head (1 fig.10). In
order to top up, remove the upper panel (3 fig.10).
b) Switch the machine on by means of the master switch (4 fig.10).
c) Set the required working speed using the keypad provided on the intelli-wind (5 fig.10) after the
cross-over angle (1 or 2) has been selected (refer to the intelli-wind manual for further informa-
tion).
Depending on the type of yarn, winding can be carried out with cross-over angle 1 (16°)
or 2 (13°).
Each head has a lever (8 fig.12) for setting this angle.
The cross-over angle should only be changed with the machine running. Normally cross-
over 1 (16°) is used with thin or slippery yarn.
The speed is expressed in metres per minute and can be adjusted using the intelli-wind
(for more information, refer to the relevant manual).
To ensure even cones, never make adjustments (speed, cross-over angle, yarn braking,
waxing, direction of rotation, threading) while cones are being produced.
Do not make the cones too soft; as their weight forces them down, they may interfere
with the yarn guide (1 fig.7), thereby breaking the yarn or bending the yarn guide out
of shape.
The yarn tensioners (6-11 fig.9), are threaded automatically when the start key of the relevant
head is pressed after the yarn has been passed through the sensor (12 fig.9).
a) Braking
To obtain more or less soft cones, use the yarn tensioner (11 fig. 9). Remember that when the
