2. Application
The RG10-D rescue device for descending is a rescue devices by means of which one person or
several persons one after the other are able to vertical descend from a higher to a lower level at
limited velocity.
The equipment may only be used within the limits defined in this user manual and for its intended
use. The RG10-D rescue device for descending may only be used as rescue system and not as fall
arrest system. The device can be used in vertical, and inclined position. The position depends on
the particular use.
Vertical position : device is hanging vertically on an anchor point.
inclined Position: f.e. in use for inclined descent.
3. Inspection
Before use: visual check and functional test of the device visual check forwear, corrosion and
damages. Check the readability of the labels.
The functional test is performed as follows: Pull left and right on the descent rope, the rope should
be relatively hard to pull through but it should move smoothly and evenly.
The inspection prior to use may be omitted for certain equipment parts intended for emergency use
if they were packaged and sealed by a competent person. If any doubts concerning the safety of the
system or parts thereof exist, the system or its parts have to be immediately withdrawn from service.
It is not permitted to use damaged devices, full body harnesses or ropes.
