13- COMAND CONSOLE (FIG.5)
The panel comprises the following controls:
- the hand-wheel for controlling the cutting depth adjustment screw
Ref.1; turning clockwise the hand-wheel lowers the disk determining the
cutting depth; the measurement of this depth can be seen on the Ref.2
indicator. Turning the hand-wheel counter-clockwise, the disk raises to
release itself from the material.
- the locking lever Ref.3 .
- the engine selector Ref.4; at ON allows manual engine starting; turned
to OFF stops the engine immediately.

14- DISK COOLING DURING CUTTING

In order to ensure adequate cooling of the cutting disk and to prevent
the formation of dust, before engaging the disk in the material to be cut,
open the water tap on the disk guard. The fl ow rate required is between
7.5 and 20 l/min. The supply can be directly from the water mains or
through the reservoir on the machine. Make sure that the reservoir is
always duly fi lled.

15- USE AND START-UP

Before start-up
Check that all the protective guards are positioned correctly.
Check the disk direction of rotation: it must agree with the
arrow shown on the disk guard.
Adjust the handle bar position.
Trace the line of the cut to be made. The line must be straight.
Raise the cutting disk from the ground.
Before starting to cut, clean the area concerned to prevent deviations
from the cutting line and fl ying material.
Lower the line-guide Page 2 Ref.13.
Carry out the due checks on the combustion engine (see engine
handbook attached).
WARNING: during engine starting, the cutting disk will be in
motion while it is outside the ground. Make sure that there is no-
one in the vicinity of the machine.
Before starting the engine make sure that the disk is raised and that it is
not in contact with any loose fragments on the surface to be cut.
Turn the power switch in the ON position Fig.5 Ref.4

Start the engine (see engine handbook attached).
Run the engine at idle speed until it has warmed up suffi ciently.
Open the cooling water tap and check that the water reaches the blade.
Take the engine to full speed (cutting speed).
Lower the blade on the cutting line until reaching the required cutting depth,
looking at the reading on the indicator (maximum cutting depth = 145 mm).
Carry out the cut pushing the machine straight on the line traced. The
operator should choose the correct speed depending on the type of ma-
terial to be cut and on the cutting depth.
Do not use the machine if the disk guard is not in place.
During cutting do not exert any side pressure to try to make the
machine corner.
If the engine stops, pull out the blade completely before starting it again.
If the blade needs to be lowered on a cut that has been partially carried
out, ensure correct alignment before starting the engine.
Upon completion of the cutting operation, raise the blade, turn off the
engine and close the water tap.
WARNING: to stop the machine in emergency conditions, turn
the engine selector on the control panel immediately to OFF.

16- MAINTENANCE

WARNING: before performing any operation on the machine,
switch off the engine.
Always keep the warnings and wordings on the machine in legible con-
ditions.
Replace worn or damaged parts with spares of the equivalent type. The
use of genuine spares is recommended.
Check the tension of the belts after 4 hours from the fi rst start-up and
after each replacement operation. Then check the tension every 18/20
hours of work.
16.1 - INSPECTION: at the end of each working day or before starting
work, check the condition of the cutting disk; change it immediately in
the event of breaks, cracks or wear.
16.2 - CLEANING: at the end of cutting operations, wash thoroughly to
remove any residues and impurities. In particular, remove the cutting
disk and clean the disk, fl anges, shaft and guard.
16.3 - LUBRICATION: Every 40 hours, check the disk holder shaft hou-
sing, Fig.6 Ref. 1, the screw support Fig.7 Ref.1 and the screw Fig7
Ref.2 and lubricate with grease if necessary.
16.4 - ENDOTHERMIC ENGINE: refer to the attached handbook for all
refuelling, oil change, maintenance and cleaning operations.
WARNING: used oil belongs to the category of special
must therefore be disposed of in accordance with current regulations.
17- MACHINE DISPOSAL
Ferrous components: send to separated collection.
The paints used are environment-friendly and are not toxic or harmful waste.
Copper, aluminium and alloys: send to separated collection.
Plastic materials: send to separated collection.
Used oils: give to authorised fi rm for the collection and recovery of used
oils in accordance with current regulations.
WARNING: in the event of machine scrapping, please be re-
minded of the need to destroy the machine data plates and any
other technical document.
