CHAIN CONTAINER INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT!
Read all instructions before attempting to install chain container to
hoist.
To facilitate the installation of the chain container, it is recommended
that the hoist be suspended from its support and be connected
to the power supply in accordance with instructions in the manual
provided with the hoist. After this is completed, install the chain
container as follows:
1. Preparing the hoist:
Operate hoist in the down direction to check the setting of the
lower limit switch. When hook is in its lowest position, there
should be a minimum of six (6) chain links between the loose
end link and the hoist frame on the loose end of the chain. If
there are less than the required number of links, reset the lower
limit switch per the instructions in the manual provided with the
hoist.
After verifying the correct setting of the limit switch, remove
the loose end screw (3), lockwasher (4), flat washer (5), and the
loose end (open) link from the hoist frame, allowing the loose
end of the chain to hang free. Do not discard these parts, they
will be reused. See manual page 68, parts 627-740, 627-741,
627-742, 627-743 for reference.
2. Installing the chain container:
a. Place one flat washer (7) on one 3/8" bolt (8) and, with the
retainer wire (6) on the inside of the bracket, insert bolt
through both wire and bracket as shown.
b. Align bracket with reinforced hole in chain bag. Add one flat
washer (7) to the bolt. Add one nylon insert lock nut (9) onto
bolt. Tighten by hand until tight.
c. Using the hardware removed in step 1, add the lockwasher
(4) to the loose end screw (5), followed by the flat washer (3).
Insert the screw through the bracket and into the hoist body.
d. Loop the retainer wire (6) around the suspension lug (10)
until the loose end is near the remaining bracket mount.
e. Repeat steps 2a-2b.
f. Torque lock nuts (9) to approximately 15 ft·lbs (20.5 N·m).
g. Torque loose-end screw (5) to approximately 4.5 ft·lbs
(6.1 N·m).
