BMR
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) refers to the number of calories the body requires
when at rest to function effectively. BMR is relative to gender, body mass, age,
weight, height, and physical activity level. Within a healthy, balanced diet, a
man needs approximately 2,500kcal a day to maintain their weight and function
effectively. For a woman, that figure is approximately 2,000kcal a day.
METABOLIC AGE
Metabolic age refers to a measure that compares your BMR to the average BMR
of your age group. If your metabolic age is higher than your actual age, it's a sign
that you need to improve your metabolic rate.
