2. BASIC PROCEDURES

2.1 Wheel Locking

Prepare Wheel and Tire for Service
WARNING:
Remove valve stem core to deflate tire completely. Remove all weights from both sides of the rim to protect the rim and
extend life of the mount/demount head.
Locate the wheel's drop center.
Mount Wheel and Tire on Wheel Clamp
Examine the wheel to determine the drop center side. The side with the shortest distance from rim edge to drop center
is the drop center side.
With the drop center side facing away from the spindle, position the wheel on the wheel carriage.
Using the inboard/outboard and up/down controls, move the tire onto the wheel clamp.
Use the OPEN/CLOSE control to open the self-centering chuck and lock onto the inside wheel rim.
Verify that the wheel has been properly centered and securely clamped.

All air pressure inside the tire must be removed before proceeding. Never attempt to
loosen the bead until all air is removed from the tire. Failure to remove all air from tire may
result in injury to operator, or damage to equipment, tire, or wheel.
