Switch the measuring instrument on in an atmosphere
that is free from flammable gas. It is essential to read
this manual before using the measuring instrument!
Never replace the batteries in an explosive atmosphere.
Test the functions of the appliance regularly using a ci-
garette lighter or a gas torch.

02. Intended use

The BG30 gas detector detects the following flammable or trou-
blesome gases: natural gas, methane, ethane, propane, butane,
acetone, alcohol, ammonia, steam, petrol, turbine fuel, hydrogen
sulphide, smoke, industrial solvents, paint thinners, naphtha.
The measuring instrument can detect gas concentrations as low
as 10 % LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) and warns the user by me-
ans of visual and acoustic alarms. Furthermore, the flexible swan
neck enables easy access to places that are difficult to reach.
