Safety and installation information

Electrical connection must only be carried out by professional personnel trained
and authorised for this.
• Never work on the luminaire with voltage applied.
WARNING - risk of electric shock!
• Valid safety and accident prevention regulations must be observed.
• Sensor luminaires are only suitable for the applications specified here.
Other applications are considered improper. If the sensor luminaire is used
improperly, safe operation cannot be guaranteed.
• For reliable movement detection, sensor/master luminaires with integrated HF
(DALI) sensor must be installed as far as possible in the direction of travel
(plug: luminaire input / socket: luminaire output).
• Supplementary metallic materials near to the installation of the sensor/master
luminaire may impair or influence the detection range due to reflections of the
HF signal.
• HF sensors respond to all types of moving objects – this may cause unintended
switching operations. This behaviour can be reduced by modifying the sensor
sensitivity.
• HF signals penetrate non-metallic materials and can therefore detect motion
in adjacent rooms that triggers unintended switching operations. This can be
avoided by modifying the signal range.
• The detection of the HF sensor is designed for the speed of a walking person
(approx. 0.7 m/second or approx. 2.5 km/hr). If faster-moving objects (e.g.
vehicles) are to be be detected, the detection range is reduced because of the
speed of the object. The response time of the sensor may also be significantly re-
duced. In this case we recommend swarm mode with several sensors, enabling
pre-running light.
• Observe the corresponding installation steps of the installation instructions for the
luminaire to be installed.
• Keep the operating and installation instructions for future reference. Make these
operating and installation instructions available for other users.
