Checking the laser
The TUBUS pipe laser should be checked as described in the following at regular intervals.
To check the laser, first horizontally survey (measure) a defined length. This can be done using
an optical builder's level. Choose a reference point (e.g. on a staff) and transfer this point
through 180° about the builder's level. I.e. the builder's is 30 metres from the reference point,
after aligning the builder's level, rotate it and determine the level of this point again at a 30 m
distance. To a large extent, this prevents a level error being measured by the builder's level.
Once this horizontal distance has been fixed, place the laser (with 0.000%) on the first
measuring point and measure the difference to the reference measuring point. Note this value
and swing the laser beam to the second measuring point. Note this value too and deduct the
two values from each other. The difference should not be more than 3 mm for a measurement
over 60 m. If the value is larger, please repeat the procedure to exclude errors in defining the
measuring points.
If the laser error is reproducible, please contact Nedo or an authorised service partner.
