5. Starting up
Charging the NC battery pack
1. Before you remove or insert the battery, activate
the transport brace (3). To do this, slide the slide
button for the transport brace to the left (lock is
closed). Remove the battery pack (6) from the
handle, pressing the pushlock buttons (A) at the
side to do so.
2. Plug the battery pack (6) into the charging
adapter (12).
3. Check that your mains voltage is the same as
that marked on the rating plate of the battery
charger. Plug the battery charger (11) in the plug
socket and connect the charging cable to the
charging adapter (12). The red LED will be lit to
indicate that the battery pack is being charged.
When the charging process has finished, the red
LED will go out and the green LED will light up.
The time it takes to fully recharge an empty
battery is approximately 3 to 5 hours. The
temperature of the battery pack may rise slightly
during the charging operation. This is normal.
4. To reduce the memory effect of the NC battery
pack, press the "Set" button whilst the red LED is
lit. The red LED will go out and the "Set" button
will light up. The lit "Set" button indicates that the
battery is being discharged. The charging
adapter (12) may become a little warm during the
discharging process. This is normal. When the
discharging process is finished the "Set" button
will go out and the red LED will light up. This
indicates that the charging process is being
prepared.
If the battery pack fails to charge, check the
following:
whether there is voltage at the socket-outlet
whether there is good contact at the charging
contacts of the battery station (12).
If the battery pack still fails to charge, send the
Battery charger and charging adapter and the
Battery pack
to our customer services department.

Never fully discharge the battery pack during
operation. This will cause the NC battery pack to
develop a defect.
ON/OFF switch
Insert the charged battery in the handle until it
locks into place. Deactivate the transport brace
(3). To do this, slide the slide button to its
position on the right (lock is open).
Switch the device on and off with the ON/OFF
switch (4).
Important. A force of over 60N exerted on the
ON/OFF switch may cause the device to switch on in
spite of the transport brace!
Inflating
Important. The in-built pressure manometer is not
calibrated. After you have pumped up a tire,
therefore, you will have to check the air pressure
using a calibrated air gauge.
Pumping up vehicle tires
Attach the cordless air pump to the valve either
directly or with the pressure hose (7).
Pumping up bicycle tires
To pump up bicycle tires with conventional valves,
screw the adapter (8) onto the valve. Attach the
cordless air pump to the adapter or screw the
pressure hose onto the adapter. Inflate the bicycle
tires. For bicycle tires with car valves, attach the
cordless air pump to the valve either directly or with
the pressure hose (7).
Pumping up other objects
To pump up leisure, sports and beach articles, use
the ball adapter (9) or airbed adapter (10). In doing
so, take care to comply with the instructions for use
of the blow-up object!
