7.1.3.2. Combination valve venting
The combination valve must be vented prior to connecting the filling adaptor.
If any water occurs during the venting, apply the procedure described in Chapter 7.2.5. and
return the valve to GCE for service.
A. Venting of combination valve through quick coupler
Ensure that shut-off valve is turned-off (OFF).
Insert quick-coupler probe in the combination valve quick-coupler (refer to appendix Nr. 2 To
get information about connecting / disconnecting procedure of quick coupler type on your
EN
product).
Wait until the combination valve has completely been vented.
Disconnect quick-coupler probe.
Venting through the combination valve quick-coupler must only be performed with appropri-
ate quick coupler probe to prevent combination valve damage.
B. For combination valves fitted with purge valve:
Ensure that shut-off valve is turned off (OFF).
Insert GCE vent jig in purge valve.
Wait until the combination valve has completely been vented.
Disconnect GCE vent jig.
Venting through the combination valve purge valve must only be performed with appropriate
vent jig. Contact GCE for further information about vent jig available for your product.
7.1.3.3. Fitting the filling adaptor
Connect genuine GCE filling adaptor. Do not use excessive torque when connecting the filling
adaptor.
Use genuine GCE filling adaptors only. Other filling adaptors may damage the non-return
valve in the filling port and impact the safety of the product.
To prevent combination valve damage, pressure inside the combination valve must be vented
according to 7.1.3.2 before fitting the filling adaptor.
GCE does not recommend using power drivers or impact drivers to connect filling adapter (ex-
cessive force & shocks could result in damage to the filling port). Contact GCE to ensure that
the filling port features on your product are compatible with power drivers or impact drivers.
7.1.3.4. Venting of residual gas from cylinder
A. Cylinder venting through flow control head:
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning slowly the combination control knob
"shut-off valve & flow selector" in anticlockwise direction to ON position.
Set the combination control knob "shut-off valve & flow selector" to maximal position - ensure
that the combination control knob "shut-off valve & flow selector" engages correctly.
Wait until the cylinder has vented completely - at least until the content indicator of E-Indicator
Display enters red zone.
Turn off at the shut-off valve by turning the combination control knob "shut-off valve & flow
selector" in a clockwise direction to OFF position. Do not use excessive force (Maximum
recommended closing torque is 3 Nm).
B. Cylinder venting through gas pressure outlet:
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning slowly the combination control knob
"shut-off valve & flow selector" in anticlockwise direction to ON position.
Insert a quick-coupler probe in the combination valve quick-coupler (Refer to appendix Nr. 2
to get information about connecting / disconnecting procedure of quick coupler type on your
product),
Wait until the cylinder has completely been vented – at least until the content indicator of
E-Indicator Display enters red zone.
