3.3. Connection
The machines must only be connected to a 12 V fully charged battery via
the crocodile clips at the end of the supplied power lead.
Connect the crocodile clips as follows:
-
connect the RED CLIP to the battery POSITIVE +
-
connect the BLACK CLIP to the battery NEGATIVE –
NOTE: Do not connect the crocodile clips to generators, car batteries, agricultural
equipment or chargers as they could generate current surges that are potentially
dangerous to the machines. Do not bring the machine into contact with water.
3.4. Using the machine
The machines is started via the switch on the grip. Once it has been started bring the
rake up to the branch to be shaken. Be careful of branches heavily loaded with fruit.
-
Grip the machines securely with both hands and make sure you have a good,
stable stance. NOTE: Never touch the moving parts of the machines.
-
To switch the machines off just bring the switch back to the off position.
If you do not intend to use the machines for a while, lay it flat on the ground to prevent
it accidentally falling.
Tips on using the rake:
-
Wear on the mechanical and electronic parts of the machines are closely
correlated with the way in which the machines are used. Insistently shaking a
particular branch may cause the machines to stop as a result of mechanical
overload and overheating of components. Try to limit overload halts to a minimum:
this will extend the working life of your equipment!
-
To prevent dangerous overloads that can damage the rake it is advisable to
intersperse the shaking action with regular pauses so as not to stress the
machines beyond the standards for which it has been designed and tested.
-
Do not use flat or damaged batteries.
4. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
4.1. Routine maintenance
Proper maintenance will ensure the machines lasts longer and costs less to run.
Periodic checks:
1)
Daily:
-
Oiling rod, comb and chain mesh;
-
wear of moving mechanical parts.
2)
The second day:
-
Tighten the countersunk screws of the cover
3) Every week:
-
Remove the motor case and the gearbox to remove dirty or used grease from
the inside. Blow away the residues of brush carbons from the motor with
compressed air. Grease the gears and close the handle.
