Depending on the application (rope access, caving, mountaineering) a single TurboFoot can be used on a single rope or
two TurboFoots on two ropes.
A replacement part is available to replace a worn tape sling (fig.15).
Marking
Use of TurboFoot is not governed by the 89/686/EEC directive.
TURBOCHEST-TURBOFOOT : USE AS LOCKING PULLEY
TurboChest and TurboFoot can be used as a locking pulley exclusively for hoisting material that weighs less than 50 kg.
This use is not intended for hoisting a person: danger of death! The take in is not reversible: never use the safety button [4]
during this use as there is a danger of releasing the load (fig.16).
This use is not governed by the 89/686/EEC directive.
MAINTENANCE
Lubricate the locking mechanism with a silicone based lubricant. This should be carried out after cleaning.
Note: cleaning and lubrication is recommended after every use in marine environment.
REVISION
In addition to the normal inspection required before, during and after each use, this product must be inspected by a skilled
person every 12 months, starting from date the product is first used; this date and the subsequent checks must be
recorded on the product's life sheet: keep this literature for inspection and reference for the life of the device. Check the
legibility of the product's markings.
In case of one of the following defects are present, the product should be withdrawn from service immediately:
cracks,

permanent deformation,
Ÿ
part wear which implies a decrease in thickness greater than 1mm,
Ÿ
excessive wear or complete breakage of one or more teeth,
Ÿ
modification to the product (welding, drilling...),
Ÿ
deep corrosion (that do not disappear after a light rubbing with glass paper),
Ÿ
malfunction/jamming of the device.
Ÿ
Any product or component showing any defect or wear, or if in doubt, should be withdrawn from service immediately. Each
product in the safety system can be damaged during a fall and must be always inspected before use it again. Do not
continue to use a product after a major fall because a damage may have occurred, even no external signs are visible.
LIFETIME
The lifetime of the product is unlimited, unless any defect appears and provided that periodic inspections are made at least
once every 12 months from the date the product is first used and the results are recorded in the life sheet of the product.
