EUROPEAN SAFETY REGULATION
ECE
In terms of product quality, safety requirements for child car seats are far stricter
in the European Union. The most recent regulation (ECE R44/04) came into force in
June 2006. This regulation requires a more realistic collision test in addition to far
stricter guidelines on
head protection and seatbelt systems, etc. All of which means this regulation is the
most stringent in the world.
