6 – Overload protection
To protect the user, the motor, the core bit and the core drill are fitted with
mechanical, electronic and thermal protection against overloads.
Mechanical:
If the core bit becomes jammed in the hole, a sliding coupler will
release the pin from the motor.
Electronic:
A diode is installed in the handle to warn the user of any overload to
the motor during drilling with excessive force.
The diode does not light up when the machine is running unladen or
in normal drilling.
The diode lights up in read during an overload. Release the drilling
pressure in this case.
The motor is switched off automatically by the electronic safety
mechanism when the diode has been lit for a certain amount of time
and the drilling pressure has not been released. The machine may be
reused normally once the overload has been released and the
machine has been switched off.
Thermal:
A thermal protection protects the motor if the electronic protection is not enough.

immediately. The machine may only restart after a cooling period (max 2 minutes).
The time the machine needs to restart depends on the overheating and the ambient
temperature. After restarting, leave the machine to run unloaded for 1 to 2 minutes
to speed up the cooling.
7 – Safety clutch
The safety clutch works when the motor is overloaded.
The clutch absorbs impacts and excessive loads. It is only an aid and does not
provide total protection. So, you must handle and use your motor with care. To
avoid damaging your motor, the safety clutch only works over very short periods
(maximum 2 seconds).
The clutch must be readjusted by an approved workshop if it becomes too worn.
protection is triggered, the machine cannot be restarted
