2 Check that the air intakes and outlets are not blocked. If they are
blocked, get rid of the cause of the blockage.
3 Empty the dust container (outer and inner chamber). See the next
section "Cleaning and Conservation".
Z
If the automatic shut-off was due to the motor overheating, wait for about
one hour for the appliance to cool before turning it on again. You can
reduce the waiting time by placing the appliance in a cool or well-
ventilated place to allow the heat to dissipate.
4 Cleaning and Conservation
Emptying the dust container (11)
i
This appliance has a special system for anchoring the dust container
(11). It is firmly attached to the body of the vacuum cleaner when the
rotating arm (5) is lowered, and released when the arm is lifted.
Z
The dust container (11) has a maximum level mark. Check that the dust
does not exceed that level.
1 Raise the rotating arm (5) by pressing both buttons at the sides (8) at the
same time (fig. 3). This releases the dust container.
2 Remove the dust container and hold it over the waste bin. Press the
button on the handle (10) of the container (fig. 4) to empty the contents
into the bin.
3 Remove the inner chamber (12) by turning it anticlockwise (fig. 5).
Empty the contents, rinse the filter with tap water and check that the
washed elements are completely dry before putting them back together.
4 Put the inner chamber back into the container (check that the marks
coincide) and turn it clockwise (fig. 6).
5 Put the dust container back inside the appliance.
6 Lower the rotating arm. The system will block the container.
Cleaning the motor protection filter (16)
Z
It is advisable to inspect the motor protection filter from time to time, to
ensure that it is operating correctly.
Z
Clean the protection filter once or twice a year, or if you detect a
reduction of suction power. To do this:
1 Remove the dust container. See the previous section "Emptying the dust
container 11)".
