Install the Finished Wall
For Receptor-Only Installations
NOTE: When installing a Sterling recommended shower door, the finished wall
thickness must be 1-5/8" (4.1 cm).
Brush all dust and debris from the receptor flange.
IMPORTANT! Maintain a 1/4" (6 mm) gap between the receptor surface and the
bottom edge of the water-resistant wall material, as shown. This gap serves as a
contact barrier if water ever seeps behind the silicone sealant.
To ensure the finished wall material will be plumb, attach furring strips above the
receptor flange and against the studs, as shown.
Cover the receptor flanges with water-resistant wall material. Maintain a 1/4" (6
mm) gap between the receptor surface and bottom edge of the wall material.
Install the finished wall material over the water-resistant wall material. Maintain a
1/8" (3 mm) gap between the finished wall material and the receptor surface.
Seal the 1/8" (3 mm) gap between the receptor surface and finished wall with
100% silicone sealant. Allow the sealant to cure according to the sealant
manufacturer's instructions.

REMARQUE: Lors de l'installation d'une porte de douche recommandée Sterling, l'épaisseur
du mur fini doit être de 1-5/8" (4,1 cm).
Brosser toute poussière et tout débris de la bride du receveur.
IMPORTANT! Maintenir un espace de 1/4" (6 mm) entre la surface du receveur et le
rebord inférieur du matériau du mur hydrorésistant, tel qu'illustré. Cet espace sert de
barrière de contact au cas où l'eau s'infiltrerait derrière le mastic à la silicone.
Pour assurer que le matériau du mur fini soit d'aplomb, attacher des coyaux
au-dessus de la bride du receveur et contre les montants, tel qu'illustré.
Recouvrir les brides du receveur avec du matériau hydrorésistant. Maintenir un
espace de 1/4" (6 mm) entre la surface du receveur et le rebord inférieur du
matériau du mur.
