English
When setting the tool into the clamping head, pull the fixing sleeve (2) to-
wards the body of the device and swivel the tool slowly until it is is locked
(seated firmly).
Be careful not to damage the cover protecting the chuck head against
dust penetration (11). Replace damaged dust cover immediately with
a new one!
Removing bits
Push the locking sleeve (3) down towards the body of the hammer and
remove the bit.
Chuck and adapter (accessories)
Adapter (9) and chuck (10) has to be used for drilling and screwing into
metal, wood and plastics with the drills having the cylindrical shank.
Chuck fixing on the adapter
The adapter (9) is equipped on the one side by the SDS-Plus shank and on
the other side by the thread ½"x20 UNF for the chuck. Screw the chuck (10)
carefully onto the thread.
Fixing chuck with adapter
Disconnect the feeding cable from the socket before any intervention into
the device.
Clean the adapter shank and smear it easily.
When setting the chuck with adapter into the clamping head, pull the fixing
sleeve (2) towards your body and swivel the chuck slowly until the adapter
shank is locked (seated firmly). Then check, whether the chuck with the
adapter is fixed and will not fall out of the fixing head.
Removal of the chuck with adapter
Pull the fixing sleeve (2) towards your body a and remove the chuck with
the adapter.
Tips for practice
Do not drill on the places where hidden el. distribution lines, gas or water
pipes could be laid. At first check the place where you intend to drill, using
for instance the metal detector.
Use only perfectly ground drills for drilling into metal, use adequate drills
with tungsten carbide drills for drilling into stone and concrete.
Adapt speed to the material you drill into and to the used drill diameter.
Impact drilling
Use protective goggles and ear protectors.
Do not apply a very high force on the hammer drill. Its performance will not
be increased anyhow.
Always work with the extension handle (8).
Prior to starting the device, check whether the function switch (6) is set to
the requested position.
Drilling into tiles
Drill the tile at firs slowly without impact. After it is drilled partially, switch
to impact drilling.
Screwing
Screwing bits can be clamped into the chuck (10) (accessories) or directly
into the adapter (9) (accessories).
Maintenance
Before commencing any maintenance, disconnect the hammer from power
outlet.
Keep the ventilating apertures (3) clean.
Clean plastic parts accessible from outside regularly with a piece of cloth
without any cleaning detergents.
After using the drill over a period of long time in demanding conditions, it
is advisable to bring the appliance to a Narex authorized service centre for
check up and thorough cleaning.
The appliance is equipped with self-detachable carbons. If the carbons are
worn down, the motor automatically switches off. This prevents the rotor
from further damage. The carbons may be replaced only by an authorized
service centre.
Approximately every 100 work hours it is also necessary to bring the ham-
mer for a regular period maintenance, which should guarantee steady and
good work output and operating life.
Each regular period maintenance check consists of these tasks:
• Cleaning of motor housing, removal of deposits, dirt and dust from the
housing.
• Cleaning of chucking nub.
1
• Checking of piston rings wear and tear.
• Checking the carbons wear and tear.
• Replacement of grease fillings.
• Crosschecking of safety clutch function.
Storage
Packed appliance may be stored in dry, unheated storage place with tem-
perature not lower than –5°C.
Unpacked appliance should be stored only in dry storage place with tem-
perature not lower than +5°C with exclusion of all sudden temperature
changes.
Environmental protection
Power tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted for environmen-
tal-friendly recycling.
Only for EU countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into household waste!
According to the European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and
electronic equipment and its incorporation into national law, power tools
that are no longer suitable for must be separately collected and sent for
recovery in an environmental-friendly manner.
Warranty
Our equipment is under warranty for at least 12 months with regard to ma-
terial or production faults in accordance with national legislation. In the EU
countries, the warranty period for exclusively private use is 24 months (an
invoice or delivery note is required as proof of purchase).
Damage resulting from, in particular, normal wear and tear, overloading,
improper handling, or caused by the user or other damage caused by not
following the operating instructions, or any fault acknowledged at the time
of purchase, is not covered by the warranty.
Complaints will only be acknowledged if the equipment has not been dis-
mantled before being sent back to the suppliers or to an authorised NAREX
customer support workshop. Store the operating instructions, safety notes,
spare parts list and proof of purchase in a safe place. In addition, the manu-
facturer's current warranty conditions apply.
