Troubleshooting Guide
Problem . . .
Iron won't heat.
Water is leaking.
Iron won't steam.
Iron leaves spots on
clothing.
Twisted cord.
Wrinkles not removed.
Iron too hot/not hot
enough.
Power ON light
illuminates
intermittently when
moving the iron.

Solution . . .
• Is iron plugged in and the outlet working? Check outlet by plugging in a lamp.
• Is the Temperature Control Dial turned to a fabric setting?
• Is the Auto Shutoff/Power ON Light illuminated? Move the iron to reset.
• Do not overfill the water tank.
• Adjust steam to a lower setting.
• If steam ironing, is the Adjustable Steam Switch in a steam position? Is the Temperature
Control Dial in the steam range? Did the iron have enough time to preheat?
• If dry ironing, make sure the Adjustable Steam Switch is in the

• Anti-drip feature will not allow steam when temperature setting is in the dry range.
• ALWAYS empty water tank after using. Water left in tank may discolor clothing and
soleplate.
• If the iron cord should become twisted, unplug iron and let cool. Hold iron cord in the
middle of entire length. Let plug and iron dangle freely until cord uncoils. This will
extend the life of the iron cord.
• Check Temperature Control Dial is set to correct fabric.
• Check Temperature Control Dial and adjust to desired setting. Let iron cool down
5 minutes before continuing.
• Conductors in the cord may be damaged. To avoid the risk of sparks and flames from a
worn cord, discontinue use of iron immediately.
