When running "MATCH ALL", the program MUST find a solution in
the lumber definitions for the piece to be cut or the piece will be
skipped. Currently, the program allows for a maximum of 112
different combinations of length, grade, and size of lumber.
2) PIECES IN CURRENT JOB is a summary of the total
number of pieces for each grade and size required
in the job. It is not a pick list, for information about
creating pick lists, see section 3.11.
The buttons down the center of the screen perform a
variety of functions:
3) CHANGE JOB LOCATION – Allows user input to
specify the computer path to the location where
the jobs are stored. This path can be any location
that is accessible from the saw computer. The hard
drive of the computer, USB, or a network drives
are all available by simply specifying the path. See
Figure 10 for a screen capture of the dialog box.

4) NEW FILE (KBD) – If the file list is longer than the
window, there will be a scroll bar on the right side
for moving through the list. If the list is very long,
this button can be used to bring up a keyboard so
the name of the job can be typed in. When Enter is
clicked or touched, the computer will find that job
in the list. This button is located in both Figure 9
and Figure 10.
5) UTILITY – Brings up Figure 11 with a number of
utility functions. Brief instructions for each utility
are included on the screen. To re-run a previously
cut job, restore the file to erase all the cut status
information. An individual piece can be restored as
well. Select an entire job or an individual piece to
check that it has been cut.
This makes it possible to delete all Pick Lists in
currently selected folder, which should be done
anytime the settings are changed.

Another option allows the TRS file to be viewed
in a text file. Multiply all the piece quantities in a
job using the Multiply Job Quantity function. This
feature is useful when the production schedule calls
for the job to be repeated, but the file is only for a
single job.
The multiplier can also be a fraction (entered as a
decimal) to reduce the quantity. If there is a need to
Move or Delete a file, this option is available. There
are additional utility functions available.

Commonly used utilities are detailed below:
A. RESTORE FILE – Red indicators appear when
pieces in a job have been cut (shown in Figure
9). This button removes the red indicators,
restoring the job as incomplete.

C. MARK PIECE CUT – Marks a single piece within
the job cut as selected. The piece will turn red.
Make sure the selected piece is actually cut
before selecting this button.
D. MARK JOB CUT – Marks all pieces in the job
selected as completely cut. The entire job will
then turn red. Make sure the job selected is
correct and completely cut before selecting this
button.
DELETE ALL PICK LIST DATA – Deletes all the

Pick List files in the current folder (.ini, .stk, .run,
etc)
This should always be done when any of the settings on the saw
are changed or updated on the standard piece list.
