• Move the face of the blade slowly over the face of the
stone. Do not apply excessive force, and avoid fingers
coming into contact with the stone
• Carry out this procedure first, before you sharpen the
blade
MAINTENANCE
• Disconnect the machine from mains power before
carrying out any maintenance work
• Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris.
Clean the outside of the unit with a damp cloth. Never
immerse the unit in water
• Check that all moving parts move freely and are in
good working condition
• Check that all nuts and bolts, especially those
retaining the honing wheel and grindstone, are
correctly fastened and free from wear
• Check the plug and power cable for signs of wear
or damage. If damaged, have them replaced by a
certified electrician
GRINDSTONE
• Do not use a grindstone that has received a blow,
especially to the side of the stone
• Replace a cracked or suspect stone
• See 'Assembly' for guidance on fitting a stone. Note
that the spindle is reverse thread: turn clockwise to
loosen, anti-clockwise to tighten

AFTER USE
1. Disengage the drive system by loosening the Torque
Adjustment Knob (10) This will help to ensure the drive
wheel retains perfect shape
2. Empty the water trough. Do not leave the grindstone
standing in water
REPLACING THE LEATHER HONING WHEEL
If the Leather Honing Wheel (1) becomes worn or torn, it
should be replaced:
1. Unscrew and set aside the Torque Adjustment Knob
(10)
2. Remove the worn honing wheel from the spindle, and
position new wheel in its place
3. Re-fit the locking knob and tighten.
NOTE: Tighten by hand only
