ENGINE BONNET
To access the fuel cock, battery and
engine, open the engine bonnet.
The engine bonnet opens as follows:
1. Raise the seat latch (7:A) and tilt the seat
forward.
2. Grasp and lift the engine bonnet (8:B).
It is forbidden to start the engine when
the bonnet is open.
5.3
BATTERY
For the type of battery used on the machine see
"0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TABLE"
WARNING! The acid contained inside
the battery is corrosive and its contact
is harmful.
Handle the battery carefully taking
care not to let it leak out.
Do not check and/or top up the battery
fluid
5.3.1 Battery connection (5)
Connect the battery to the machine electrical sys-
tem using the screws and nuts (3:M; 3:N)
1. Connect the red cable to the positive battery
terminal (+).
2. Connect the black cable to the negative bat-
tery terminal (-).
The battery may short or be damaged
if the cables are disconnected/con-
nected in the reverse order.
The alternator and battery will be dam-
aged if the cables are interchanged.
Securely tighten the cables. Loose ca-
bles can cause fire.
Never run the engine if the battery is
not connected. The alternator and
electrical system could be seriously
damaged.
5.3.2 Battery power reserve
Before first use, fully charge the bat-
tery.
For battery charging procedures see
9.10.

SEAT (6)
Release the latch (6:A) and tilt the seat bracket
upwards.
Mount the bracket in the rear (upper) holes as
follows:
1. Fit the shoulder washers (6:B) to the screws
(6:K), complete with washers (6:R).
2. Insert the screws in the bracket slots (6:G).
Place a washer (6:D) between the seat and
the bracket.
3. Tighten the seat screws.Tightening torque 9
± 1.7 Nm.
The seat will be damaged if the screws
are tightened to a torque greater than
9 ± 1.7 Nm.
4. Check that the seat slides easily in the
bracket slots.
Mount the bracket in the front (lower) holes as
follows:
1. Fit the knobs (6:E) on the screws (6:F).
2. Fit a washer (6:D) on each screw.
3. Insert the screws in the bracket slots and
tighten by hand.
4. Recline the seat down and move it to the de-
sired position.
5. Tighten the knobs (6:E) by hand.
The seat is reclinable. If the car is left outside
in the rain, fold the seat forward to prevent the
cushion from getting wet.
The seat is locked. To lower or raise the seat, first
release the latch (6:A).

STEERING WHEEL (9)
• Type "I" steering wheel
To minimise the axial play of the steering column,
fit the 0.5 mm and/or 1 mm shim washers (3:D;
3:E) on the steering column between the sleeves
pos. (9:A) as follows.
1. Fit the sleeve (9:B) on the steering column
and secure it by inserting one of the pins
(9:C) about 1/3 of its length.
2. Pull the sleeve and the steering column up-
wards.
3. Check that the 0.5 mm washer, the 1 mm
washer or both can be inserted into the
opening created at point (9:A). The washer(s)
must not be forced, as there must be a slight
axial play.
4. Extract the pin (9:C) with the pin punch (9:D)
and remove the sleeve.
5. Fit the washer(s) as determined in step 3
above.
