4. PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
The Whale® Electric Field Sensor is located on the bottom of the plastic rods. This Whale switch
senses water level and automatically controls a 12 or 24 volt Grey Waste pump (only when the
current does not exceed 20 amps.) Whale recommends that it is always used in conjunction with
either the Gulper 220 or 320 range of Whale Grey Waste Pumps. The sensor turns on and off
when it senses water levels at levels of 51mm (2") and 19mm (0.74") respectively within the Grey
Waste Tank.

6. TO THE FITTER
Check that the product is suitable for the intended application, follow these installation
instructions and ensure all relevant personnel read the points listed below. Also ensure that
these operating instructions are passed on to the end user.
7. APPLICATION
This service kit is specifically designed for use with Whale Grey Waste Tanks. It is designed as a
replacement lid and sensor for the MKI II and III tanks, although MKI and II tanks will require
some simple modification. The sensor does not require any additional components nor does it
require a relay (as in previous models). It can be connected directly to the power source and
