Troubleshooting

Problem
Camera will not take a picture
Camera will not take a photograph
and the frame counter is flashing
in the data panel (see pp. 75/76)
Whole picture out of focus
Cause
Camera is not switched on
Battery is flat
Battery contacts dirty
Flash is recharging
External flash unit is not
correctly attached
Subject is too close
Film not loaded correctly,

Film has been rewound and the
cartridge is still inside the camera
Error in program
Film transport malfunction
Camera moved when taking picture
Incorrect manual focusing

Remedy
Switch the camera on (see p. 69)
Replace the battery (see p. 68)
Clean battery contacts
Wait for a short while until the flash has
charged up (see p. 116)
Position flash unit correctly
Ensure subject is at least 0.7 m away
(see p. 79)
Open back cover, reload film (see p. 74)
Remove film cartridge (see p. 111)
Remove battery and re-insert.
Rewind film by pressing the film rewind
button
Hold camera steady and press shutter
release button gently
Check distance to subject and reset
