Use of extension cords

When using an extension cord verify the gauge is enough
for the power that your product needs. A lower gauge cord
will cause voltage drops in the line thus, power loss and
motor overheating
The following table shows the right size to be used
depending on cord's length and the ampere capability shown
in the device nameplate. If in doubt use the next higher
gauge. Remember, the lower the gauge, the heavier the
cord will be. Double-check the extension cord is in good
shape and it has a grounded conductor.
