ADJUSTMENTS, LUBRICATION, MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
DANGER: risk of tangling, wrapping, dragging
while trying to remove crop or foreign bodies
from the pick- -up while the machine is opera-
ting.
Such an action could cost you the life or the loss of a
limb.
7. If the tailgate is open, engage the suitable safety
devices (see fig. 23). The safety engagement / re-
lease operation must be made out of the tailgate
closing area.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Daily check that there are no oil leaks or damaged
hoses and lines.
If required, close the fittings or replace the faulty
parts.
Make sure that the hoses have been fastened with-
out creating any interference with the baler and trac-
tor moving parts.
Check that there are no leaks in the hydraulic cylin-
ders; replace the seals if required.
CAUTION: the correct preservation of hydrau-
lic hoses is an important safety feature. The
features of hoses, as years pass, change due
to pressure, thermal loads and UV light. Most pipes
have the manufacturing date printed on them, to de-
termine their duration safely.
Change the hoses when, for whatever reason, they
do not offer the original safety features. Make sure
that the new hoses have the same features of the re-
placed ones.

DANGER: risk of squeezing due to the tailgate
accidental closing.
8. While working on the hydraulic system, make sure
it its drained completely.
DANGER: risk of high pressure fluid ejection.
Pressurized oil leaks can cause severe injuries. Al-
ways wear individual protections such as goggles
and gloves while searching for possible oil leaks.

Hydraulic system pressurization for chamber
closing
Whenever the tailgate is closed, the tractor double--
acting hydraulic control must be operated for a few
seconds again, until reading the initial pressure of
120 bar on the pressure gauge, re. 1, fig. 3.
PICK- -UP ADJUSTMENTS
The best pick--up tine, re. 2 fig. 24, ground clearance
is 20/30 mm from the ground; on stony grounds, this
clearance must be increased to prevent inlet of
stones and damage to the pick--up.
Proceed as follows:
-- loosen the screw, re. 1 fig. 32, on both sides.
-- Remove the screws, re. 2 fig. 32, on the right and
left sides.
-- Adjust the pick--up at the wished height by the trac-
tor hydraulic control valve.
-- Fit the screws, re. 2 fig. 32, in the corresponding
holes at the wished height (same position on both
sides); tighten the screws, re. 1 and 2 fig. 32.
NOTE: during road transport, lift the pick- -up and lock
it in raised position using the chains, re. 14 fig. 17.
