7.2 Maintenance work
●
Open and vent the pump shaft or station.
●
Inspect the internal chamber visually for:
-
a build-up of coating,
-
deposits on accessories.
●
Block the sewage inlet(s) (using an air stopper for example).
●
Measure the delivery head at Q=0.
-
Where the pump flow rate drops by more than 10%, remove the pump from the shaft.
Check the impeller and pump housing for wear and tear.
●
Check the shaft level.
●
Drain the shaft manually until low-level emptying begins.

Check the base of the shaft for any deposits.
-
Where major deposits are present, clean the shaft.
●
Fill the shaft and complete a test run.
●
Where it is impossible to measure the flow rate:
-
Wait until the shaft is full and the pump is operating;
-
Measure the time between switching on and off (t) and the drop in the level (Δh);
-
Calculate the flow rate using the following formula:

7.3 Changing the oil
It is recommended that you change the oil in the sealing chamber / separating chamber once a
year or after 1000 hours of operation.
Changing the oil:
●
Draw the shaft out of the pump and spray clean.
●
Allow the motor to cool down.
●
Remove the motor and adapter from the pump housing.
●
Remove the impeller from the shaft.
●
Detach the motor from the adapter.
●
Loosen the oil vent screw (M8 with slit) on the lid of the motor and vent the oil.

Collect the used oil in suitable containers and dispose of in accordance with EU Directive
75/439/EEC and the decrees issued in accordance with Articles 5a of the Waste Act and
Used Oil Order (in Germany).

Fill the sealing chamber with oil and close.
