1.
Movethespeedselector s hiftleverinto sixth(6) position.
2.
Withthewheel d rivecontrolreleased, p ushthesnowthrower forward,
thenpull itback.Themachine shouldmovefreely.
3.
Engage thedrivecontrolandattempt t o movethemachine both
forward and back,resistance shouldbefelt.
4.
Movethespeedselector s hiftleverinto thefastreverse (R2)position
andrepeattheprevious two steps.
If youexperienced resistance rolling the unit,eitherwhenrepositioning
thespeedselector s hiftleverfrom6 to R2or whenattempting tomovethe
machine withthedrivecontrol r eleased, a djustthedrivecontrolimmedi-
ately.SeeAdjusting Drive and AugerControls.

Frombeneaththe handle,pull downwardon theappropriatecable
and unhookthe springfoundon the end of the cablefrom its
respectiveactuatorbracket.Referto Fig. 14.

If adjustingthedrivecable, threadthe lock nutoutward(downthe
couplertowardstheend of thethread)to lengthenthe cableand
allowthe unit to movefreelywhenthe control is released.
Threadthe lock nut inward(up the couplertowardsthe cable)to
shortenthe cableto reduceslippageand preventthe machine
from being easilymovedwith thedrive controlengaged.
Do notover-tighten thecable.Over-tightening m ayprevent t he auger
shaftfromdisengaging andcompromise thesafetyofthe snowthrower.
If adjustingtheauger cable,threadthe lock nutdownthe coupler
towardsthe end of the threadto lengthenthecable as necessaryto
stopthe auger shaftfrom turningwhenthe controlis released.
4.
Reattachthe springto the rear-mosthole in the actuatorbracket.
5.
Repeatthe wheeldriveand augercontroltests to verifyproper
adjustment.Repeatpreviousstepsif necessaryto attain proper
adjustmentof eachcable.

Slide thespringup thecableto exposethe cablecouplerthreads
and lock nut. Referto Fig. 15.
