Care and Cleaning
WARNING: Before attempting service, unplug the power and release all pressure by draining all water within the system. Inspect and
do routine maintenance on the pump and system on a regular basis. Keep debris and foreign objects away from the unit.
To clear a pump clogged with debris:
□ Unplug the pump from electrical power.
□ Unscrew the three screws (1) on the bottom of
the base (2) and remove the base (2).
□ Unscrew the four screws (3) on the bottom of
the volute (4) and remove the volute (4).
□ Remove debris from around the impeller (5).
□ Reassemble the pump.
Troubleshooting
WARNING: Hazardous voltage. Risk of electric shock, personal injury, or death. Unplug the pump before attempting to clean or servicing
the unit.
Problem
The pump will not start.
The pump starts but
pumps little or no
water.
The pump has
automatically shut off
or cycles intermittently.
Probable Cause
There is a tripped circuit or a
blown fuse.
The line voltage is low.
The motor is defective.
The line voltage is low.
The impeller is clogged.
The impeller is worn or there are
defective parts.
There is airlock in the pump
Thermal overload has tripped,
impeller is clogged, low voltage,
long extension cord, very low
head or lift.
Corrective Action
If the fuse is blown, replace with the
appropriate size or reset the circuit breaker.
If the voltage is less than the minimum
required, inspect the wiring size at the main
switch on the property. If the size is OK,
contact the local electric company or
hydroelectric authority.
Replace the pump.

Flush with a garden hose. If the debris cannot
be cleaned, follow instructions above for care
and cleaning.
Replace the pump.
Tilt pump 90 degree to horizontal to allow air
to escape.
Protect the pump from the heat of the sun.
Pump cooler water. Pump is dry; add water.
Unclog impeller, increase voltage, shorten
