TESTING AND LIMITS
The Evac Body Splint and each lifting strap on the Stretcher Spider can support a static load of 300kg.
The Evac Body Splint and Stretcher Spider in combination can support a static load of 300kg.
While not designed to withstand falls, the Evac Body Splint and Stretcher Spider have been tested dynamically in
combination in falls from a height of 0.50m, weighted with a 140kg dummy.
Usage temperature: -30/+50°C
LIFESPAN
The estimated maximum lifespan is 10 years from the date of manufacture.
However, the following factors may affect the performance of the product and reduce its lifespan: improper
storage, misuse, warping, contact with chemical products (acids or alkalis) or exposure to sources of strong heat >
50°C.

INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE

Webbing
The stretcher lifting straps are made of 48mm polyester, while the casualty securing straps are made of nylon.
Securing straps are made of 44mm and 25mm nylon.
Textile components
Check for cuts, tears and abrasions or other damage and evidence of contact with heat, acid or other corrosive agents.
Stitching
Check for broken, cut or worn threads.
Karabiners and links. Check that karabiners and threads are not damaged
or bent, and check that the springs on the snap gates are in good working order.
Buckles
Where fitted to the shoulder of buckles, the tongues of the plastic buckles must be examined carefully. Check also for
the presence of burrs or oxidation on metal or alloy buckles.
CLEANING
First rinse with cold water. If the stretcher is still dirty, wash with warm water (max. temp. 40ºC) and pure soap or a
mild detergent, suitably diluted, with a pH between 5.5 and 8.5. Rinse well and leave to dry in a warm place, away
from direct heat.
Chemicals
Avoid contact with any chemicals which may affect the performance of the equipment, particularly acid or highly
caustic substances (e.g. battery acid or bleach). Discard the equipment immediately in the event of contact or sus-
pected contact with this type of product. A list of chemical products and their effects is available on request. If used
in a marine environment, always rinse the equipment thoroughly with cold water after each use.
