2.9 Cleaning

WARNING : Always remove the plug from the wall socket before performing maintenance.
Do not put any plastic components of the Opti-myst in the dishwasher.
Don't use a decalcifier, this will shorten the lifetime of the smoke unit.
We recommend to clean the following components once every two weeks, especially in areas with
hard water: screw cap of the water tank, collection reservoir with damp spreader, air filter. Use a
soft clean cloth for the cleaning, and never use any grating or abrasive cleansing agents.

2.9.1 Screw cap of the water tank

1. Put the main switch in the "OFF" (0) position.
2. Pull the drawer out. (see Fig. 3).
3. Remove the water tank and place it in a sink with the cap pointing upwards.
4. Remove the screw cap.
5. Clean the inner surface of the screw cap with the supplied brush, pay special attention to
the rubber ring.
6. Put a small quantity of detergent in the tank, screw the cap on and shake the tank well,
rinse the tank after that until all detergent has gone.
7. Fill the tank with tap water, and screw the cap back on.
2.9.2 Collection reservoir.
1. Put the main switch in the "OFF" (0) position.
2. Pull the drawer out. (see Fig. 3).
3. Remove the water tank and place it in a sink with the cap pointing upwards.
4. Uncouple the plug, which is attached to the left side of the collection reservoir, by
unscrewing the 2 screws and carefully pulling the plug loose. (see Fig. 9).
5. The collection reservoir with damp spreader can be lifted from its position by turning the
two knobs 90 degrees and lifting it up. (see Figs. 10 and 11) Take care that the reservoir is
held horizontally because of the water that is still in the reservoir.
6. Put the entire unit in the sink.
7. Turn the two knobs of the reservoir 90 degrees, and the damp spreader can be removed.
(See Fig. 12).
8. Tilt the reservoir so that the water can be drained. (see Fig.13).
9. Put a small quantity of detergent in the collection reservoir and use the supplied brush to
clean all surfaces including the metal discs and the rubber connection. Don't remove the
rubber connections. (See Figs. 14 and 15).
