Installation

4.1

Mounting instruction

Before MagnaTrack Basic can be installed, a suitable position must be
determined in relation to the vehicle's parking space in the station. See
Figure 1.
The distance from the floor to the bottom edge of the rail should normally be
3 4 m (10 13 ft). The rail is to be installed at least 0.3 m (1 ft) from the side of
– –
the station opening. If MagnaTrack Basic is to be used between two vehicles,
the distance between the vehicles must be at least 1.2 m (4 ft).
The distance from the rail's leading edge to the station door is to be at least
0.3 m (12 in). Make sure the door can open freely without interference
to the rail.
The entire system is to be protected against rain.
1. Place all the rail profiles in line with each other on the floor. Screw the
profiles together with the lengthening joints, see Figure 2.
2. Fasten the mounting devices in the middle of every other profile, see
Figure 3.
WARNING!
When mounting MagnaTrack Basic, check that the system will not snag
protruding parts on the vehicle when driving in or out.
3. See Figure 4. Lift the whole rail and fit it in the ceiling. The mounting
devices is to be fixed in bars, brackets or similar arrangements according
to the examples. The first and the last mounting bracket should be braced,
see Figure 4, item 1 and 2. All mounting brackets is to be braced with
bracing bars positioned sideways according to one of item 3 and 4 in
Figure 4. When mounting the rail, ensure that suitable fixing bolts are
used considering the ceiling construction material and the traction forces
in the suspension points.
4. Fit the duct connector over a rail joint as near the middle of the rail as
possible, see Figure 5.
NOTE!
The vehicle's parking position must be on the opposite side of the
rail, see Figure 1.
5. Mount the trolley with balancer, see Figure 6.
6. Fit the balancer cord in the 90°-bend, see Figure 7.
7. Fit the micro switch on the front part of the guide track, see
Figure 8, item 1. The exact distance from the front edge of the guide
track must be checked according to the installation checklist, see
Chapter 4.1.5 Installation checklist.
8. Fit the cable on the top of the guide track, see Figure 8, item 2.
9. Fit the shock absorber in the front edge of the guide track, see Figure 8,
item 3.
10. Fit screw and nut at the back edge of the guide track, see Figure 8, item 4.
