Obligations of the machine operator

The implemented safety function must be subjected to a regular and documented performance test by
a specialist during the period of application of the machine. The frequency of these tests must be de
termined by the machine operator based on the specifications of the machine manufacturer. An inspec
tion of the motor controller is recommended at least once a year.

Description
The acknowledgment contact of the STO function (DIAG1/DIAG2) can be
evaluated by a higher-order controller. The STO function is active whenever
the acknowledgement contact is closed.
The "H" in the 7-segments display of the motor controller indicates that the
STO function has been requested. "H" is always displayed if the fault mes
sage 0x34 is not displayed.
The status of the STO function (active/inactive) is thereby not displayed.
When the STO function is requested, the fault message "Safe torque off "
(0x34) is generated. The message can be configured as an error, warning or
information and is then displayed correspondingly on the 7-segment display
of the motor controller. An entry in the diagnostic memory is optional.
The status of the STO function (active/inactive) is thereby not displayed.
