4.2 Measurement of Angle
Observing in the
"Normal" and
"Reverse" Positions
of the Telescope
The normal position of the telescope refers to observation with the object lens
facing right ahead (the vertical encoder being on the left); the reverse position refers
to observation with the object lens facing right ahead (the vertical encoder being on
the right). The mechanical errors can be offset by the average of the values of meas-
ured in the normal and reverse positions.
