AIR SUPPLY
Use a clean lubricated air supply that will give a measured air pressure at the tool of 90 p.s.i./6.2 bar when the tool is running with the trigger fully
depressed and the air regulator in its maximum opening flow position. It is recommended that the tool is connected to the air supply as shown in
figure 1. Do not connect the tool to the air line system without incorporating an easy to reach and operate air shut off valve. The air supply should be
lubricated. It is strongly recommended that an air filter, regulator, lubricator (FRL) is used, as shown in Figure 1, as this will supply clean, lubricated air
at the correct pressure to the tool. Details of such equipment can be obtained from your supplier.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
The air supply hose recommended is 3/8" (10mm) I.D. If an extension hose is necessary, use 1/2" (13mm) ID hose with couplings not less than 3/8" (10mm) I.D.
LUBRICATION
For maximum performance and tool life, an air line lubricator, set to deliver 4 drops per minute, is recommended. SIOUX No. 288 Air Motor Oil is recommended.
If an airline lubrication is not used, it is recommended that the tool be oiled daily before use to improve performance. Add 4-8 drops of air motor oil and
run the tool for 10-20 seconds to distribute oil through the tool.
MAINTENANCE
Water, dust and other airline contaminants can cause rust and vane sticking. For long periods between tool use, flush the tool with 5 ml of oil and run for
10 seconds. This will help remove contaminants and reduce the formation of rust.
DISASSEMBLY:
1.
Disconnect tool from air supply.
2.
Remove FOR/REV buttons (31/26) by carefully prying against rear housing.
3.
Remove four screws (30).
4.
Be prepared to catch oil from hammer section as separate the nose housing from the motor.
REASSEMBLY
1.
Clean and examine all parts for wear and replace any parts with parts obtained from manufacturer or authorized distributor.
2.
All parts must be dry. Check that all bearings are lubricated and run smoothly and reassemble all tool parts in reverse order.
3.
Use Parker-Lube or similar on all O-rings and rubber seals.
4.
Install knob (27) such that handle points to power position #4 and lettering reads from lower left to upper right.
5.
Place detent spring (25) into housing with detent bumps toward knob and long arm toward tool handle.
6.
Pre-assemble entire motor before installing into rear housing. Torque RV Plate screws (19) to 8 in-lb.
7.
Ensure reverse valve (24) engages yoke (11). Parker-Lube on valve OD helps hold valve in place during installation.
8.
Lower motor assembly into rear housing. Ensure O-ring is in place during installation (20).
9.
Install gasket (2) on nose housing.
10. With rotor spline pointing upward, install impact assembly w/o anvil.
11. Add 14ml (1 Tbsp) of Red-Line synthetic ATF or equivalent into impact assembly. Install anvil.
12. Install nose housing (1).
13. Tighten screws (30) to 21 in-lb in a cross pattern.
