6. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1
Follow these simple steps to use the IntraTemp Solution Warmer:
1. Plug the power cord into a power receptacle. It is recommended to ensure sufficient capacity is available
on the circuit being used.
2. Turn on power switch. This actuates the Bottle Pocket heaters automatically; this also allows the user to
actuate the basin heater when ThermaBasin is correctly installed.
3. Correctly install a ThermaBasin (See section 6.2 below).
4. Pour a minimum of 1.5 L of solution into the ThermaBasin.
5. The green Power-On indicator light, digital fluid temperature display and basin heater will activate when a
ThermaBasin is properly installed.
6. Saline bottles or bags may be placed into the Bottle Pockets as needed.
7. At the end of a procedure, removing the ThermaBasin will turn off power to the basin heater, shutting off
the green power indicator light and basin temperature display.
8. Turn off the unit's power switch.
9. Discard ThermaBasin per hospital guidelines.
10. After use, allow the heating plate to cool before cleaning.
11. Clean and dry the ThermaBasin receptacle after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cloths. It
is particularly important to avoid scratching the ThermaBasin receptacle and that it be clean and dry
between uses.
NOTE: A small amount of water can accumulate in bottom of the basin receptacle due to condensation
during use or due to fluid spilled when removing the ThermaBasin after use.

Installing a ThermaBasin
1. Use only Ecolab ThermaBasin with the integrated thermal well and drape. The IntraTemp Solution
Warmer functions only with Ecolab ThermaBasin.
2. Remove a ThermaBasin with attached drape from the sterile package per accepted aseptic technique.
3. With the drape collected on top of the ThermaBasin and the bottom of the ThermaBasin exposed, place
the ThermaBasin into the basin receptacle on top of the warmer.
4. Align the basin's thermal well with the Safety Switch in the bottom of the warmer's basin receptacle.
Match the basin's locator slot with the locator ridge in the basin receptacle. Press the basin bottom and
the basin's thermal well onto the solution warmer's Safety Switch. Pour fluid into basin.
5. When the basin is properly installed both the green Power On indicator light and the digital fluid
temperature display will illuminate beside the basin this verifies that the basin heater is actuated.
6. The heater will not actuate until the basin is properly seated and the warmer's power switch is in the ON
position. Firmly depress the basin's thermal well onto the Safety Switch. If the basin is properly installed
and the warmer's power switch is on but the power indicator light and fluid temperature-display do not
illuminate, please unplug the unit and contact Ecolab/Microtek Customer Service.
