Heater Safety Switch
The ThermaBasin heating plate Safety Switch Thermocouple has three positions:
•
Fully up- no ThermaBasin in place - no heat
•
Middle position- ThermaBasin in place - heat conducted to ThermaBasin
•
Fully down - no heat
Care should be exercised that the ThermaBasin is properly located in the basin receptacle with the basin's
thermal well placed securely over the warmer's Safety Switch thermocouple.
3.5
Temperature Control System
To ensure the safe use of warm fluids the basin heater controls may be set at a temperature between
37° and 43°C (98° - 110°F) and the temperature scale may be set to either Celsius or Fahrenheit by
qualified service personnel. Access to the control buttons by the user is restricted by a controller cover.
3.6
Upper Basin Indicator Light and Digital Display
The green "Power On" indicator light glows to indicate that power is available to the upper basin heater and
that a ThermaBasin is properly installed for use.
The digital display on the top surface of the IntraTemp displays the temperature of the solution in the
fluid basin.
If the ThermaBasin is not properly seated, neither the green indicator light nor the digital display will be
activated; the basin heating system is not actuated.
3.7
Heated Bottle Pocket Technology
The side housing of the solution warmer has two (2) Bottle Pocket heated access sleeves to hold standard 1
or 1.5 liter sterile saline solution bottles or 1 liter bags.
The Bottle Pockets cannot control a fluid bottle or bag to an exact temperature; they are designed
so that when a fluid container is in place it will be maintained at or very near a steady temperature.
3.8
Drain Tank
A Drain Tank is provided to capture any fluid spilled into the upper housing receptacle. A tube that runs
inside the unit connects the drain hole located in the upper housing receptacle to the drain tank.
