Welcome to Rain Bird

Thank you for purchasing your new state-of-the-art
Rain Bird LXM-DTC Satellite Controller for the IQ™
Central Control System. For more than six decades,
Rain Bird has led the irrigation industry in meeting all
of your water management needs by providing the
highest quality products and services available.
IQ™ Central Control System
The IQ™ Central Control System provides remote
capability for programming and monitoring multiple
LXM-DTC Satellite Controllers from a single personal
computer.

LXM-DTC Satellite Controller

The LXM-DTC Satellite Controller is a field component
of the IQ Central Control System, designed for
commercial or residential use. The Satellite Controller
is shipped with one 8-station module installed. Its
modular design can house up to four control modules
(either 4- or 8-station modules) supporting up to 32
stations.

IQ Satellite or Upgrade Kit

To obtain an LXM-DTC Satellite Controller, either:
purchase an LXM-DTC Satellite Controller, or
upgrade an existing ESP-LX Modular Controller
with a U-DTC-LXM Upgrade Kit (see page 6).
DTC-LXM Communication Interface
Cartridge
The LXM-DTC Satellite Controller and the U-DTC-
LXM Upgrade Kit include a DTC-LXM (Direct-to-
Central) Communication Interface Cartridge. The
DTC-LXM Cartridge complements the ESP-LX Modular
by providing advanced IQ remote communications
capabilities, enabling centralized control for virtually
anywhere irrigation is needed.

This manual is an addendum to the ESP-LX Modular
Controller Programming & Operation Guide. The
instructions in this manual guide you through
installing a U-DTC-LXM Upgrade Kit, connecting the
communication cable, and configuring an LXM-DTC
Satellite Controller.
