Installation and regulation of power tool
elements
Before carrying out any works on the power tool it
must be disconnected from the mains.
Do not draw up the fastening elements
too tight to avoid damaging the thread.
Mounting / dismounting / setting-up of
some elements is the same for all power
tool models, in this case specific models
are not indicated in the illustration.
Additional handle (see fig. 1-3)
Always use the additional handle 4 when operating
Additional handle 4 may be positioned as deemed
comfortable by the user
[CT18114, CT18116, CT18118, CT18118V, CT18158,
CT18158V]
• Loose additional handle 4 as shown in fig. 1.1.
• Place additional handle 4 in desired position (see
fig. 1.2).
• Tighten additional handle 4 as shown in fig. 1.3.
[CT18123V]
• Loose clamping nut 20 as shown in fig. 2.1, 3.1.
• Place additional handle 4 in desired position (see
fig. 2.2, 3.2).
• Tighten clamping nut 20 as shown in fig. 2.3, 3.3.

prove that the dust protection casing 2 is
not damaged. In the case of damage the
dust protection casing 2 is to be replaced
immediately at the specialized CROWN service
centre.
Borers SDS PLUS and SDS MAX, due to the
design peculiarities of chucks SDS PLUS and
SDS MAX, can move freely within a certain
range This is why a radial run-out appears
at no-load idle running, which is automatically centred
at drilling. It does not influence hole-drilling accuracy.
• Before installing the borer (chisel), clean it and apply
a thin oil layer
[CT18114, CT18116, CT18158, CT18158V]
• When mounting borer (chisel):
• move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in this position
(see fig. 8.1);
• insert (slightly twisting) the borer (chisel) into the
chuck 1 (SDS PLUS) against stop (see fig. 8.2);
• release fixing bush 3 (see fig. 8.3);
• test the borer (chisel) fixing by trying to remove it
from chuck 1 (SDS PLUS)
• When removing borer (chisel):
• move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in this position
(see fig. 8.1);
• extract the borer (chisel) from the chuck 1
(SDS PLUS);
• release fixing bush 3 (see fig. 8.3).
[CT18118, CT18118V, CT18123V]
• When mounting borer (chisel):
• insert (slightly twisting) the borer (chisel) into the
chuck 16 (SDS MAX) against stop (see fig. 9.1);
• test the borer (chisel) fixing by trying to remove it
from chuck 16 (SDS MAX)
• When removing borer (chisel):
• move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in this position
(see fig. 9.2);
• extract the borer (chisel) from the chuck 16
(SDS MAX);
• release fixing bush 3
Gloves are to be used when removing the
borer (chisel) from chuck, as the borer
(chisel) may be dangerously hot after
long drilling.
Adapter for chuck SDS PLUS
[CT18114, CT18116, CT18158, CT18158V]
• SDS PLUS adapter 24 and screw 25 enable using
gear rim chuck 23
