When unit is used for the first time the "M" symbol will not be displayed.

One Second Mode

1. Press button to turn unit on.
2. When the "˚F" or "˚C" symbol flashes-gently insert the probe while
pulling back the ear lobe this provides a direct line to the eardrum to
maximize the accuracy of results.
3. Listen for ready beep (1 beep); an "0" symbol will appear indicating
unit is functioning, angle is correct and thermometer is ready
for measurement.
4. Press button again while unit is placed in the ear; you will hear 4 beeps
which means reading is complete.
