Installation
Not necessary.
Assembly
For Control Panels that are dispatched
separated from the boiler, please refer to the
same section in the boiler instructions.
Operation
The contents of these Instructions refer to the
effect that handling the component in question
can be have on the behavior of the installation. It
is recommended that the written instructions be
followed and applied when the component is
being manipulated
All the LEDs, keys and symbols mentioned in
these Instructions can be identified in Fig. 3 on
page 2. The green "power on" LED
Control Panel will remain ON as long it is under
voltage.
In the GTI & GTI-F Heating Units, three operating
modes can be selected by pressing the "Service
Selector" key:
Stand-by. As long as this option is selected,
its corresponding symbol will show in the box
above the Control Screen and the green "power
on"
LED will be lit. No Heat is generated, but
the installation is automatically protected from
the effects of low temperatures by the "frost
protection" feature (see explanation in the next
section) and the pump/3-way valve from possible
seizure through prolonged shutdowns by the
"maintenance" feature (see explanation in the
next section).
Combined Heating and Domestic Hot
Water Service. As long as this option is selected,
the corresponding symbols will show in the box
above the Control Screen and the green "power
on" LED
will be lit. Heat is generated to meet
the system demand for Heating and Domestic
Hot Water.
Please note that DHW always has priority over
Central Heating.
Domestic Hot Water mode only. As long as
this option is selected, its corresponding symbol
will show in the box above the Control Screen
and the green "power on" LED
is generated to meet the system demand for
Domestic Hot Water.
"Frost protection" and "maintenance"
features
These operating procedures have been stored
in the memory of all control panels. They are
automatically activated whenever the system
conditions call for them.
The "frost protection" feature is activated when
the boiler water temperature drops below 5 °C.
In this case, the burner and the pump will run for
thirty minutes to keep the temperature of the
water in the boiler equal to the programmed
setpoint (factory-set or set afterwards), as the
minimum operating boiler temperature (see. Min.
CH Temp. in the following table).
The "frost protection" feature will be automatically
cancelled whenever there is a call for heat from
one of the circuits.
The "maintenance" feature is always activated
after a continuous 24-hour shutdown, whichever
the service selected. In such a case, the pump(s)
will run for 3 seconds, and the V3V remains in an
intermediate position.
Boiler Control Screen
Press the "Service Selector" key until the symbol
of the service desired is displayed in the box
above the Control Screen, as has been described
at the beginning of the preceding section
"Operation".
The symbol
The symbols
demand for the service they stand for, and when
there is, they flash.
Whichever the service selected, when pressing
the keys next to the
value reached by the Domestic Hot Water*,
boiler water or the operating pressure is shown
on the corresponding scale, under the
'bar', on the orange-lit screen. The Fig. 6 on
page 3 depicts the temperature scales for
Domestic Hot Water and boiler water, as well as
the pressure identified by the symbol at the top.
* With demand only; if there is no demand, the factory-
set value is displayed.
In the temperature scales (0 °C to 100 °C) their
instant value is shown with all the segments being
displayed up to that level, and with one segment
flashing, the (factory-set or later) programmed
operating temperature. See next section.
In the pressure scale (0 to 5 bar) their instant
value is shown with all of the segments being
in the
displayed up to that level.
Changing the factory-set operating
values
Following the above-mentioned display for the
temperature scales, when pressing the keys next
to
or
, the segment which is flashing slowly
(i.e. the one indicating the value of the
programmed operating temperature) starts
flashing rapidly. Later pressings of the keys next
to
or
will move the relevant segment up or
down, respectively. Stop pressing when the
segment has reached the position wanted on
the scale which corresponds to the new value
for the operating temperature of the water in the
boiler or in the DHW cylinder. When the segment
stops flashing rapidly, or when pressing the keys
next to the
rature will be stored in the Control Panel.
Maximum and minimum limit values
Maximum and minimum limit values for
temperatures and pressure have been factory-
set in the control panels, as shown in the Table
below. Maximum limit values cannot be increased
and minimum limit values cannot be decreased
and so pressing the keys next to the
symbols will take no effect when the limit values
will be lit. Heat
for the parameters we intend to change have
been reached.
The maximum (top) and minimum (bottom) limit
values are those which have been programmed
(at the factory or later) for the maximum and
minimum operating pressure and temperatures
for both the Central Heating and Domestic Hot
Water services.

Reducing maximum set limit values and
increasing minimum ones
– If no lockout condition exists (see section
under "Fault codes" below), press the "Service
Selector" key and select
– Press the key next to bar. The pressure scale
shows the system fill pressure at that moment.
– Press the keys next to
5 flashes, the screen will show code 00. In
case of lockout, the screen will show the
corresponding code (see section under "Fault
codes" below).

– From this point on, when pressing the keys
next to the

or bar, the temperature or
pressure scales will show the value at the
particular moment and, with flashing segments,
the maximum and minimum factory (or later
set) limits.
– Press the keys next to the

select the maximum ( ) or minimum (
being modified. The limit chosen will flash rapidly
and the other will remain fixed.
– Press the keys next to the
increase or lower the limit value that is flashing
on the scale.
– Once the flashing segment has reached the
desired value on the scale, store it by allowing
10 seconds to pass without pressing any key
(or press, before that time has elapsed, the
"Service Selector" key or those next to the
or bar symbols. The new limit values will
flash slowly.
– To recover code 00, press the "Ser vice
Selector" key.
Note:
It is recommended that the maximum working
pressure be set lower than the safety valve
pressure.
The minimum factory-set working pressure
guarantees that the boiler contains water but not
that the system is filled up. It should be set above
the system static head (e.g. 0.6 bar or higher if
the system height is 5 metres).
Recovering the Basic Functions after
Changing the Maximum and Minimum
Limit Values
– Starting from the screen with the code 00,
recovered at the end of the previous section,
press the keys next to the
at a time. After flashing twice, the screen will
show the pressure scale with its present value
and, in the top box, the symbol
– Stop pressing the keys next to the
symbols.
– Press the keys next to the
the Boiler or DHW temperature screens.
Retrieval of factory-set maximum and
minimum limits
Modified and stored limit values can be replaced
at any moment, except during a modification
process, by the factory-set values, according
to the Table above. To do that, proceed as follows:
– Press the keys next to
2-3 seconds. When the screen flashes twice,
it means that the intended restoration has been
achieved.
