General Guidelines for Use
following the recommendations below will result in a longer

operating life, better performance and more economical opera-
tion of your generator set.
• Carry out the maintenance described regularly, including the
'Daily Procedure before Starting'.
• Use anti-freeze or coolant fluid in the engine cooling system
throughout the year to protect against frost damage and pre-
vent corrosion. See the engine manual for the correct specifi-
cation.
• Never allow the engine to run without thermostat.
• Always use a good quality lubricating oil. Consult the relevant
engine manual for the correct specification.
• Use a good quality diesel fuel that is free of water and other
pollutants.

• Always stop the engine at once if the 'Charge Current' warn-
ing lamp lights up.
• Avoid the generator set having to provide maximum power
continuously.
